Founder and CEO
Dr. Howard Schilit is the founder and CEO of Schilit Forensics, and a pioneer in the field of detecting accounting tricks in corporate financial reports. He is the author of Financial Shenanigans: How to Detect Accounting Gimmicks & Fraud in Financial Reports, now in its 4th edition. Howard was the founder and CEO of CFRA until the business was sold in 2003. He has been a leading spokesman before the US Congress, regulators, and global media outlets about accounting tricks and the early warning signs of business deterioration in public filings. Dr. Schilit began his career as an Associate Professor of Accounting at American University and continues to teach and lecture all over the world. Dr. Schilit holds a doctorate in Accounting from the University of Maryland.
Jeremy Perler, CFA, CPA

Jeremy Perler, CFA, CPA, is the Director of Research at Schilit Forensics and co-author of Financial Shenanigans: How to Detect Accounting Gimmicks & Fraud in Financial Reports (4th edition, 2018). Previously, Jeremy served as the in-house Forensic Accounting Analyst for Coatue Management, a long/short equity hedge fund; Director of Research for CFRA; and auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers. In addition, Mr. Perler serves on the Standing Advisory Group of the PCAOB. He previously sat on the FASB's Financial Accounting Standards Advisory Council (FASAC) as a representative of the Investor Community. Jeremy holds a Master of Accounting and a BBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
Yoni Engelhart, CFA
Yoni Engelhart, CFA, is a managing director at Schilit Forensics and co-author of Financial Shenanigans: How to Detect Accounting Gimmicks & Fraud in Financial Reports (4th edition, 2018). Previously, Yoni served as a Principal at Partners Capital, a private investment office serving endowments, foundations, and high net worth families; Product Management Specialist at Wellington Management Company; and Senior Analyst, Director of Quantitative Research, and Director of Business Strategy at CFRA. He has been a guest lecturer at Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, Wharton, University of Chicago, and many other top business schools, and is a member of the Investor Advisory Committee of the FASB. Yoni holds a BS from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
